All McFarland Rods are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner.
If your reel seat falls off, we will fix it. If your grip works loose, we will fix it. If a thread wrap comes unwound, we will rewrap it. All of this is covered for life and repaired free of charge.
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear occurred in the course of normal use.
Finishes dull, paint gets scratched, cork gets dirty. Things like this are considered “normal wear and tear” and are battle scars that tell a story about the great times you’ve had with the rod. These things are not covered under warranty.
Accidental breakage is also covered and will be handled on an individual basis for a fee.
I do a durability test on every rod section before the rod is built. It’s very rare that there is a fault or structural defect in a rod when it leaves the shop. Most breaks are caused by accident. Tailgates, screen doors, and the boots are the leading causes. Accidents happen and if they do your rod will be repaired as quickly as possible.
